Letter from Patient Family Member

My experience here at Mission Community Hospital has been exceptional. From the moment we walked into the hospital, we were personally escorted by Armand M. to the Sleep Center (my son has severe sleep apnea).
For the first time, we were seen as people, rather than
patients with an insurance card. Our comfort was completely a
priority (unlike other hospitals); we were given juices and water to
drink (it was a hot day). Armand even put on a child's DVD to make our son feel comfortable and at home.
He quickly reassured me of all my concerns. No one even asked us for our insurance papers. The room we were in was spacious and comfortable. Everyone we came across at the hospital was smiling and pleasant.
I thank God that Mission Community Hospital came my way.
Thank you all,
F.D.

"Q" van driver is an exceptional person who just happens to be a driver. He takes his driving and our safety seriously. While he is driving I see his eyes all over the road watching for possible hazards.
He is always polite & caring.
He deserves a raise!
Thanks!

Please pass my appreciation on to Patricia McCarthy for her
professionalism and willingness to help J.G. during his stay Mission
Community Hospital. The Social Services department went out of their
way to locate a facility for J.G. due to his unusual requirements.
She was willing to go the extra mile in order to find J. a permanent
living establishment which resulted in placing him at Laveview
Terrace. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with her and want to let
you know of the outstanding service she provided for J. You are
fortunate to have Pat as an employee. Best wishes to her and the
rest of the Social Services staff at Mission Community Hospital.

This is the first Hospital, where every employee is very
cool, In Reception and Specialy to Dr. Siegel, Chris LVN,
Sandy, and Chris EMT.
Thank you so much by having cool people is a pleasure be
here.
The Difference to another Hospital or clinic where every
body is screeming or telling to the partner go do your
work.

My two (2) year old child had a seizure due to fever and
my husband and I rushed to your facility as it was the
nearest to out home.
Your staff was excellent in all aspects of their work.
They were very caring, comforting and extremely
professional. They took exceptional care of my child and
I will be eternally grateful.
I would especially like to mention two of your staff
members who truly made us feel extremely secure and
safe. Nurse Usha and Rich displayed great competence,
knowledge and compassion when caring and working with
our child. Their bedside manner is exemplary!
Thank you for easing such an unpleasant experience. We
felt our child was in good hands.

To Whom It May Concern:
I was held against my will in Mission Community Hospital Behavior
Health Unit from 5-9-07 to 5-12-07 on a 72 hour involuntary patient
advisement hold. I am a 42 year old male who has had several back
surgeries. I also suffer from severe disc space narrowing L4-L5 and
degenerative disc. I am permanently disabled, under the care of a
pain management doctor. I had mistakenly taken a double dose of
medication, and to make a long story short, is was “misinterpreted”
as a suicide attempt..
As you can understand it was a very difficult period of my life.
There were several positive things that came out what I had
considered at the time to be a completely “negative” situation. The
biggest thing is my experience with the Mission employee, Pablo.
From the moment he saw me: he comforted me, he calmed me, and he
protected me. If he did not actually “save my life”, he certainly
played a major roll in my speedy and successful recovery. Pablo
treated me with respect. Pablo did exactly what he needed to do to
defuse a “certainly negative” if not volatile situation when I first
arrived. I fell that Pablo took a personal interest in me and my
well being through out my entire stay at Mission.
After my release from Mission, I had returned to pick up some
personal articles that were left. When I was there waiting for my
stuff in the lobby, Pablo was leaving work. Pablo noticed me from
the parking structure, and he walked all the way back to the lobby
to greet me. He was like “hey M., how are you? How are you doing? Is
everything ok? Did everything work out? Do you need anything? How is
your family?” He not only remembered my name. He remembered
everything about me and my case. He greeted my as if I was a long
time friend or family member – not someone who had just been
institutionalized.
Pablo carries himself with dignity. He treats his patients with
respect. He treats them in the same manner he would expect to be
treated at Mission Community Hospital. I hold him in the absolute
highest regard. I will always be thankful for his help. He is a
kind, compassionate, and exemplary employee. Mission is lucky to
have him, as I was lucky to have him care for me. Thank you Pablo!
From the bottom of my heart I thank you! & as they would say in the
hip hop community – that is keeping it real, that is 4life.
My social worker, Sharon Buyan was also excellent. She was very
understanding of my situation. She was insightful, and very helpful
with my discharge/aftercare plan.
