Welcome to Mission Community Hospital’s Transitional Year Residency Program Located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, our program is ACGME-accredited for 13 Transitional Year positions.

The Transitional Year Residency Program is dedicated to providing an enriched academic and clinical learning environment that will successfully prepare the residents to be competitive applicants for advanced categorical residencies and excel in their future training programs. Elective rotations provide opportunities to explore which medical specialty suits the TY resident best. Faculty use a collaborative approach as TY residents learn team-based care and deliver evidence-based, wholistic health care to a diverse population of patients of all ages.

MCH strives to maintain a healthy workplace. The TY program offers a supportive group of teachers and peers and curriculum which includes professionalism skills training, monthly resident support meetings, and Balint Groups.
