New Hospital Visiting Policy

Thank you for choosing Mission Community Hospital for your health care needs. We are committed to protecting the safety of patients, staff, and the general public while maintaining high-quality care at our hospital.

We always use the best safety practices to protect the health of everyone who comes to our hospital and surrounding campus. Mission Community Hospital is prepared to treat new and emerging diseases, utilizing infection prevention protocols from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC). We also continue to coordinate closely with local, state and federal health agencies.

Patient Update

All admitting patients will be screened at designated entry points, including the hospital’s Emergency Department.

NEW HOSPITAL VISITING POLICY

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination is required for visitation

  • Visiting hours at Mission Community Hospital begin at 12:00 p.m. and end promptly at 7:00 p.m.
  • One visitor is allowed per patient at any given time.
  • Visitations may not last longer than 1 hour.
  • All visitors will be screened and have their temperatures taken upon entry to the hospital.
  • All visitor must present proof of vaccination. If there is no proof of vaccination, visitors must 
be swabbed for COVID-19 and wait for results prior to visiting patients.
  • All visitors must check in at the Information Desk in the mail lobby prior to visiting. 
Each visitor must sign-in to receive a Visitor Pass. This pass must be returned to the 
Information Desk at the end of the visit.
  • Hospital-approved masks must be worn upon entry and at all times within the facility; 
cloth masks are not permitted.
  • NO outside food is permitted.
  • Any visitor who exhibits signs and/or symptoms related to COVID-19 will not be granted 
entrance to the Hospital.
  • Visitors are limited to only the patient’s room. Visitors should not access public areas 
within the hospital, including but not limited to the cafeteria.
  • Visitors must follow CDC guidelines for physical distancing at all times.
  • Children under the age of 16 may not visit the hospital.
  • Visitors are not allowed in the Emergency Department except 
a parent or guardian may accompany a patient who is 
17 years of age or younger.
  • Visitors are not allowed in surgical or medical procedure areas.
  • NO visitors allowed for patients who have active COVID -19 
illness or those patients under COVID-19 investigation.
  • Visitors must check in with nursing prior to entering the 
patient’s room.
  • All visitors are subject to the Mission Community Hospital 
visitor policy.
Please note that all of the above policies are in place to keep our patients, staff members, and visitors safe. For that reason, these policies may be subject to change without notice.

All Other Non-Clinical Individuals

To protect our patients and staff from possible exposure to COVID-19, until further notice all non-urgent and non-clinical individuals are no longer permitted on the Hospital’s campus. Exceptions may be made on a case-bycase basis. For those non-clinical individuals allowed on campus, everyone will be screened at designated entry points. No exceptions will be made.

If you suspect you have COVID-19 and you have mild symptoms or no symptoms, please call your provider’s office. If you do not have a provider, you can call (818) 787-2222.

If you suspect you may have COVID-19 and you are experiencing serious symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, seek immediate help at the ER. Please call ahead to alert the ER that you are on your way.

Connecting with a Friend or Loved One

We recommend using FaceTime, Skype, Zoom or the phone in your room to connect with and update your loved ones who cannot visit during your stay. Please contact our Patient Experience team (818) 787-2222 for video connection with a loved one?
