Job Description:
Mission Community Hospital, is currently searching for a Full-time, Day Shift, Director of Clinical Education positions for the Education Department.
Responsible for coordinating and directing the clinical/non-clinical, and administrative functions in the hospital as it relates to education. Supporting/implementing educational processes identified by the department heads. Ensures objectives and standards are met in relation to patient care, human resources and budget expectations. Position Relationships: Responsible to: Chief Nursing Office, Workers Supervised: Nursing and Members of the clinical healthcare team. Interrelationships: Has frequent contact with the Executive Leadership Team, Department Directors & Manager, Members of the Medical Staff, patients & the general public.
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, registered as a nurse in the State of California
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, Master of Science degree in Nursing or related healthcare field preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and communicate ( in-person and/or via telephone/intercom) effective in English.
- Additional language(s) preferred
Skills
- Basic – Intermediate computer knowledge.
- Knowledge of clinical/non-clinical statistics e.g. FTE’s, Hours Per Patient Day, Nursing Cost, …
- Knowledge of the budgetary and capital request process.
- Knowledge of unit-specific benchmarks e.g. Value Based Purchasing, Core Measures, Customer Satisfaction..
- Proficient in nursing theory and practice.
- Knowledgeable in principles of management and personnel administration.
- Knowledgeable in principles of department/facility/organizational accreditation/certification.
Regulatory Requirements
General Requirements
- Current California RN license
- Minimum nursing degree required: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Preferred nursing degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- BCLS
- ACLS
- CCRN preferred
- Minimum three years acute nursing experience.
